I loved Jelly Shoes as a kid. I wore them all the time even though my mom didn't want me to buy them because she thought they would ruin my feet. Well, my feet aren't ruined yet so I decided to make a go at it again. I found this great brand Melissa from a Brazilian company. They are not only jelly shoes, they are also fashionable and rather comfortable. I think they are also made out of recycled rubber and have a sort of sweet smell of rubber that lingers for awhile (odd, but kind of a good thing because it brings you back to your old jelly days on the playground). I bought a grey pair at Magnet in Berkeley that seem to be very versatile. I wore them to work and everyone thought they were patent leather which was pretty funny since they are rubber. Then I wore them to brunch in Berkeley at La Note and I fit right in with the uber trendy french waitresses.

This is a really girly post.
My mom thought they would ruin my feet, but I insisted on having them too. They were awesome, and they made feel totally grown up. A mi me gustan los zapatos de jelly!
really, jelly shoes? I'm skeptical. I think they haven't made it to San Diego yet ;)
And no, I wasn't allowed to wear them as a kid, either!
